Resources Available for Everyone…

​

In addition to the spiritual food provided in the church every Sunday morning, the readings and prayers in the service, the sermon, Sunday School and adult study, there are other wonderful resources available for you and your family to utilize for spiritual growth and worship throughout the week. These include:

 

  • Taking Faith Home – This two-sided, half-page faith building tool provides daily Bible readings related to the lectionary text for the Sunday, weekly devotions, prayers, and questions for further thought, to utilize Scripture in our daily lives.This is no longer included in every bulletin, but sufficient copies are on the narthex table each Sunday.

 

  • Portals of Prayer – Portals is a quarterly issuance written by various talented authors and produced by Concordia Publishing House.It provides a daily Bible verse, brief devotional and prayer that can be completed in fewer than 5 minutes.It also provides daily morning and evening prayers and prayers for specific concerns or events, which express thanks and needs perfectly.Copies are available on the narthex and entry tables beginning the week before the start of each quarter.

  • Family Devotional Materials – The Education team provides seasonal devotional materials for Advent, Christmas, and Lent; they are geared for all age groups, so are excellent for families.They are placed on the narthex table. Children attending Sunday School also receive a children’s ministry bulletin each Sunday that coordinates with their lesson.

 

  • The Lutheran Witness – In addition to providing news about the synods and churches’ activities, each issue of this monthly periodical has a theme for its five or six main and interesting articles. Recent themes have included Life in the Sacrament, Mission, Tradition and Traditions, and Leisure. Additionally, there are monthly segments on Worship, Searching the Scriptures, and Life in the Church Year.Altogether, the Witness is a great resource for personal and family study.Copies of each month’s issue are available in the narthex, or you may purchase your own subscription.

  • Lutheran Hour Ministries provides a daily devotion 365 days a year, consisting of a 3-to-5-minute message, questions, and a prayer.This resource can be accessed via LHM.org/daily devotions. It is available through email or as a podcast.There is no cost to subscribe.
