SUNDAY MORNINGS between Services

Beginning January 5, we will have a unique opportunity to study the story of the “Prodigal God, Recovering the Heart of the Christian Faith”, written by renowned pastor, author and speaker, Timothy Keller.  Keller leads a church with a congregation of 5,000 people (average age 25-40) in downtown Manhattan and other campuses.

In this study, “Timothy Keller uncovers the essential message of Jesus, locked inside his most familiar parable.”

I have taken this course, watched the video at least three times, and have always enjoyed it and learned from it, however, when I watch it again a last week,  it blessed me more than ever. I realized it would be the perfect offering for our congregation as we go through our own spiritual renewal.  It enhanced our lesson from Pastor Schaeffer at the workshop in November at St. Paul's, and leads us into the Mission Study with Tina Jayson. How exciting and relevant!

This offering will occur between Sunday services in the fellowship hall (approximately 9:30 am). The lesson will involve watching a short video, a book study and discussion. I have a book ready for you with YOUR name on it. See me, Cyndie Dixon, if you have any questions.

On January 17 at 6:00 pm, the Friday Night Bible Study will continue at Cyndie Dixon’s home.  On that date, we will collaboratively decide what we would like to study. Bring your suggestions! It could be a book of the Bible, a book study, a topic, anything that about which you would like to learn more. Light snacks will be served. Feel free to bring a friend! Cyndie’s address is 1013 Samantha Lane #102, Odenton. See you Friday!

Via de Cristo

A Spanish phrase meaning "way of Christ", is a 3-day retreat (Thursday evening through Sunday evening) twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.

It is designed as a spiritual and renewal journey for Christians.  Often there are meeting of participants during the year to talk and renew commitments.

Both men's and women's retreats are available.
